problem with vista

hi guys i have a problem my laptop keeps showing that something is wrong with the windows installer and to contact with my administrator every time i try to install a program by the cd/dvd rom what could be the problem? is there anything that i can do to fix it? is brand new dell and it have all the updates on it!!! thanks a lot in advance
 
Administrative permissions and the new User Account Control feature are the two things to look at there. Your user account will need full administrative permissions. The user account control will prompt like a super firewall to allow or deny on everything. You may have to create a new administrator's account to get around assigning full permissions to the current one.
