Problem with wireless internet connection...

Hey hopefully somebody can help me get a fix for this im out of ideas. I have 3 computers in my house (2 laptops 1 desktop) connected to the same router. The laptops work fine connecting.

The problem with the desktop is that I intermittently lose connectivity to the internet. The strange thing is i never lose connection to the router, but I will no longer have access to the internet. When this happens the laptops (if they are on) still have access and can disconnect and reconnect with no issue. To get my connection back I can either wait, and usually within a few minutes I will have access to the net again or sometimes I will have to reconnect to the router. Sometimes neither work and I have to reset the router. I am running vista on the desktop, and xp on the laptops is the only main difference. I have tried installing a new wireless card, new antenna, new drivers, nothing seems to work.

Anybody have any thoughts on what it could be, or a possible fix? thanks in advance!
 
Are you downloading any torrents or anything? Torrents and other downloads clog up your router and pc really bad. You also could have a virus or some nasties.

  • Download Hijackthis from here
  • Open Hijackthis
  • Click on "Do a system Scan Only"
  • Click on "save log"
  • A notepad window will open
  • Hit Ctrl + A
  • Copy + paste in a forum reply

Then we can go from there.

That has to do with my logitech bluetooth mouse/keyboard im sure. Either way I tried removing it, still get the same problem. Thanks for the help so far, any other ideas? Driving me crazy

Have you got your driver installed for the wireless?

ok..... have you tried manually configuring the wireless settings??? manualing putting an IP address etc in???

Have you made sure you link it on access point (repeater mode)???
