Problems installing "Star Wars: The Best Of PC" games

I just got this game and only 2 of the 5 games will install. It includes Empire at War, Battlefront, KOTOR, Republic Commando, & Jedi Outcast on two DVDs. Battlefront and Jedi Outcast are the only ones that install. The others will start the normal installing process and they install until the get to the point were it reads: "C:/ Launch.RC.exe" (RC = Republic commando). When it gets to this point my computer will freeze every time and i have to manually turn it off. The first time this happened, i thought i bought a corrupt disc, so i returned it and got the same game. Same thing happened, no clue why it keeps freezing. By freezing I mean that my pointer wont move the clock stops, etc. I've never had any problems on my computer and i have plenty HD space. Did walmart just get a bad batch of discs? Can someone help me with this?

Try to burn a copy of the disk or virtualise it and see if it will install then.

Don't do either of those, because it is illegal.

What are the specs of your computer, and what does the game require?

Possibly an issue with your Optical drive. Are any of these games pre windows xp? if so try running the install executables in compatibility mode.

My computer meets all of the requirements, all of the games are recent, and I've recently installed other games on DVD discs with no problem. COuld wal mart have gotten a bad batch of games?

Do you have a firewall on while you're installing, if so try shutting that down and any other games that are running in the background and try again...

Actually, I just tried installing it on another computer and it installed fine, that PC had basically the same setup as mine. Could it be the DVD drive on my laptop? its wierd though because the drive still reads some disc and burns. Its not a removable drive thogough so i would have to send it to Gateway to fix, if they even would...
