Problems installing XP

Hi,
I am going to format the HDD on my laptop (wrong forum i know)
The problem is that the Windows XP Pro disk will not start up when i restart. I have set the BIOS to boot from CD-ROM, but it says:

Boot From CD-ROM : None
Boot From Floppy: ??? then it boots up.

What else do i need to do to make the CD work on restart?
 
try amking sure the cdrom is fully connected with the ide cables and everything....sounds like u may have a loose cable somewhere.

lol, sumthings telling me its not a loose IDE cable :P
