Problems loading Real Player in XP

Have problems loading Real Player in XP computer. It comes back and says that it encountered a problem in loading the program and had to shut down.
This is after a fresh version of XP (Pro) has been loaded in. ( I had other problems, would not restore or make a restore point anymore among other ones.)
Quick formatted the HD when re-loading XP. Never had this problem before I had the other problems and decided to re-load XP.
Like to have Real Player for its unique feature of being able to load in video from social web sites, and have lots of .flv files.
Any suggestions?

Would highly suggest that you reinstall windows and do the full format not the quick. Whenever you are having issues with a system like that its always best to do the full format. Or you can download and run killdisk on the drive to make sure its fully deleted. I've seen weird things happen after only doing the quick format. I've seen a dual boot menu I don't know how many times when there was only 1 OS installed.

JOHNB35 -Thanks for the tip. Will do so, for I have other problems again. Adobe Reader will not install, after 55% computer just hangs up, and I have to do a hard reset. Does not look good!
It just such a hassle loading everything back in, fortunately I have data backup files.
BTW are you familiar with Achronis? I have that but I am not been able to find out how to restore a complete system when you just want to restore it in the same HD as it was backed up from. They only talk about a fresh, new replacement HD.

Did you save your Acronis image on the drive you're trying to reload? You can't restore an image to the same drive the image is on.

To restore your image, you use the bootable restore media you can create within the program.

However before you do anything else, test your hard drive. It sounds like it's failing. I'd also test your RAM with Memtest86+.

UPDATE- I backed up my disk with Arconis on external HD, replaced original HD with another HD I had and reloaded the OS and files back in. Can load in Realplayer now, must have been something with my old HD.
Thanks fellows for your help.

SECOND UPDATE It does it again to me! Now with a different computer! Can not load in Real Player, and again with the same message, -- the installer "encountered a problem and had to shut down." Tried different mirrors, same results.
It is not that I want the player so badly, it just bugs me. Why is the OS doing that? I assume it is in conflict with an other program I have, I just do not know how to find the offender. And why should it be in conflict with an other program?
Any suggestions/comments?

Try another edition of real player.
Don't install the beta version.
If you just want a media player,
you can search another freeware.
Or find a suitable version.

.

I tried as you suggested above. No success.
It just bugs me that it does not want to load. I have never had a program that acted like that, and I like to know what causes it.
(I like Realplayer because I can download any video clip from the Internet with it, something other players won't do. But I can live without it, I do not do it often enough.)

BTW It loaded in 7, not in XP Pro, ( I have a Dual Boot system), but I do not have all the same programs in them. I have several older programs in XP, some even pre-date XP, and I wonder if that is what causes the problems.
