I have an old AMD Athlon XP 1800 cpu that I have been using on an ABIT KX7-333 mobo.
About a year ago I was getting BSOD's like crazy so I tried underclocking the cpu to 1500 and this solved the problem.
Now I am getting more BSOD's while windows is trying to start up. It does this everytime, so I cant get into windows and therefore cant change the settings to not restart on BSOD....so I cant get any codes. I tried underclocking again and nothing..it wont start up. Everything sounds like its starting up but I get nothing on the screen. Also, when I go into the BIOS to monitor the voltage readings on the core. They are jumping around like crazy. The default setting is 1.75v and I'm getting readings from 1.4 - 2.0. If I try to change the core voltage setting, nothing happens as described above.
Anyone know what the problem is? I'm thinking either bad cpu, mobo, or psu.
Thanks.
