Problems tuning Giga-byte K8NF-9 mobo W A64 3000+ venice

Ok, so I've read all the 101's, done a bit of research, and over the weekend tried to overclock my processor. Now from all the reviews I've read I should be able to get my processor to at least 2.3ghz without too much trouble. The highest I can get it is to 1.9ghz, and the system's unstable, I've got the voltage to the cpu set between 1.4 and 1.5, so I'm not worried about damaging the processor.

I think it may be that my mobo's just not as tuner friendly as I'd anticipated, in the ram, the bios options for MT intelligent tweak are:

CPU Frequency : 200mhz (200-400)
CPU Spread spectrum : Centre spread
PCIE clock: 100mhz (100-150)
K8 CPU clock ratio : default (3x - 9x) - (9's default? ie. 9x200mhz = 1.8ghz)
Robust graphics booster : Auto (normal, fast, turbo)
CPU Voltage control : 1.4 standard
Core power voltage control : Normal (+.1, +.2)
HT link voltage control: Normal (as above)
DDR Voltage control: Normal (as above)

i'm obviously new to this, so any advice anyone can offer would be appreciated. I can't seem to find the multiplier option..

Cheers.

Ok, I think I need to hit Alt-F2 to get the advanced bios options up, I'll give it a go tonight. (dont' have internet at home, only at work, it's a killer..)

1.5v is still safe for the processor although im slightly perplexed at why you'd have to bump it up that high to get the OC anyways. Can you outline what settings you've got it to run stable at? :)

Ok, finally progress!! Seems that the bios which comes with the mobo isn't at all friendly to tinkering, I've updated it to F7, and now I'm running at 2.3ghz with 1.45V. On the standard bios which comes with the mobo it really doesn't like any oc'ing.

Thanks :D
