Problems updating Italian PC from Vista to Windows 7

Hi, the problem is the recovery partition seems to be missing. This is the error message I get in Italian:

la partizione di ripristina non e stato trovata. uscire dal programma di creazione e contattare l'assistenza HP.

Which google translates to

the recovery partition has not been found. exit the building and contact HP support.

Every help search I do tells me to open PC Help And Tools from my start menu, but this is not on the computer either. Of course, the very fact that everything is in Italian is the main reason I am upgrading to Windows 7, as I can select English then, but I am having a hell of a time trying to create recover disks here!

If I can't download what I need to be able to create the recovery disks - how important is it that I actually do this? I mean, is it just to be on the safe side, in case W7 doesn't install properly and I have to go back to Vista? In this case, which I assume is the worst-case scenario, couldn't I just buy the recovery disks for Vista then?

I would like to understand this, but I would really like to install W7 today, so anyone who can help - greatly appreciated!!

If you're not worried about the programs that are installed and just want to install Win7 to change languages, you'd be far better off doing a fresh install. I don't see why you'd need a recovery partition for an upgrade though. It should install regardless. I did a Vista -> Win7 upgrade on my laptop and had no recovery partition.

Ok, so I decided to just go ahead with the upgrade, but now there is a problem with the upgrade disk:

"D:/Sources\SPWIZENG.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."

The above error is then followed by the following error

"The file autorun.dll could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. Error code is [0xc1]"

Any ideas?

Upgrading is usually not a good idea especially if your current OS is messed up,full of crap or simply not working properly and therefore an upgrade will not run correctly or it WILL,but later you might have problems with an upgraded OS.
Not to mention that your computer probably do not even have a recovery partition. And even if it has,it probably has Windows Vista on it and also it might be corrupted or full of viruses if the computer was not well protected during the time it was used.

The best way of fixing your problem is to completely format entire HDD and then make a fresh install of Windows 7 on english language.
If you do not know how to do this or do not have everything you need, you can always ask us here on forum for help or ask me for help and I will connect to your computer and do the job for you.My contact E-mail for these things is:
