Problems watching movies in Pc

Hi, my problem is that when i try to watch a movie or a videoclip in my computer, it doesn't display anything. I'm displaying the desktop in the tv and in the pc. In the pc monitor it works fine but in the tv i can't see nothing, just the desktop. Please help

You have to drag the movie screen to the TV. Just drag it to the right of the pc's monitor

I did't get it. Can you explain me better? I want to open a videoclip in windows media player 11

maybe you don't have the right codec installed...
try to download the codec (nimo codec pack or other...)
