Hey everyone. My uncle gave me his Gateway 310XL from like 2004 to fix up and sell if I wanted to . This used to be my computer, I sold it to him, and then he gave it to me back because he got a new computer. Anyway, what I want to do is format the HDD. If I insert the OS disk (Win XP), it doesnt automatically load. So it seems like i should go into BIOS and set the disk drive to first priority.
THE PROBLEM:
Automatically when i turn on the computer, I get a black screen with options that say "Press F2 To Open SETUP" and "Press F12 to Boot from Network"
When I try F2(does the same thing with F12 btw), it says LOADING SETUP. Then some text pops up that says "00 USB REMOVABLE STORAGE DEVICES FOUND CONNECTED AND CONFIGURED" or something almost identical to that. Then, it just stays there. I am unable to do anything. I can't open BIOS (SETUP) or boot from network, I'm just really trying to open BIOS tho. Any ideas?
