ok, heres the deal i got need for speed most wanted and a Nvida Geforce 6600gt silentpipe 2 graphics card and the game works just fine on the computer but in a race it always seems to pause for around 1 second and then unpause during the game and this is getting me angry can anyone please help me????

How often do you get these pauses?
The game is huge and it's often required to load new data as you make your way through the maps. 1 second sounds abit long though, make sure you keep your drives as defragmentated as possible.
Diskeeper lite is an awesome defragmenter utility.

The size of the drive doesn't matter, it can still be badly fragmented.
Another thing to check is how many applications you've got running in the background when you play the game. You have plenty of memory but you still should check whats going on in the background.

Try turning down some of the graphics settings. Turn down\off AA(anti-aliasing). If that's not on just look around at other settings. Turn things down until the game runs smoothly.
