Problems with AIT HD 4650

Hey guys. I just finished my first build and thoguh i have an integrated HD 4290 on my ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/ USB3 mobo, I decided to get a small upgrade to an ATI HD 4650. The problem is, that every few days or so, (its been about a week) I boot my PC and everything is in the 800x600 pixels and i get an error message saying "No ATI drivers detected or installed. Please Install the appropriate drivers for your hardware..." Then not long after that error message, I get the Microsoft Blue Screen of Death. and sometimes followed by a failed reboot. But everything seemed to work fine prior to the boot. Now I am running off of the integrated graphics card and everything seems to be working fine, but I don't know what the problem is with the Newer graphics card. Any ideas? I would really like to use the Graphics card that i purchased >.<

Have you made sure the graphics card is connected properly. Also try downloading the latest drivers for it and installing those.

Well everything looked fine and Windows said that i had the latest updated drivers. And I still got that message. Had an afterthought though, Could it be possible, that my Dell monitor isn't compatible with the graphics card? I mean it all hooks up fine but maybe it's not HD compatible or something.... Just a thought. Running fine now with the 4290 integrated card with the mobo, but I want the other one because it's much better. >.<

What power supply unit do you have?

Could be underpowered, although the 4650 isn't a very power-hungry card. Some GPU's emit a loud screeching if underpowered, though I take that hasn't happened to the OP, as he would have said in his OP

Yes. Hes gone from an integrated solution with nothing more than probably a cheap, crappy 250W psu with 12A on the 12V rail, to something that is recommended to have double. Very likely an underpowered PSU is causing problems that are being reported by the OS as a driver issue. Worth investigation nonetheless.

Power supply make and model required by the OP.

well my power supply delivers 900-1000 watts and the 4650 doesnt have a PCI power slot. But I bought that power srouce knowing it was a little more than I would need so I could upgrade. So I don't think it is the power supply. I'm wondering if because my Dell monitor is a little older, that it doesn't fully support the graphics the card dishes out, but it works well with the integrated 4290 graphics card.

But nontheless, The powersupple is a Rocketfish RF 900 W PS

Think i found the problem. I deactivated my integrated graphics card before i installed the PCI E card. I didn't know how to do that before >.<
