Problems with browsers

I have a serious problem!
I have an ADSL connection wich functions normally.
Lately every 2-3 days suddenly and without any notice, IE and firefox stoped to open any web site. IE shows error "Cannot find server" whereas Firefox shows a blank page. Both of them shows the message "Done" down in state bar.
However email, FTP and P2P works properly.
The same problem occurs when I connect with dial-up.
The problem wouldn't be in Antivirus/Antispyware/Firewall programs since when I deactivate them the problems persist. My PC must be clean from any virus too.
The problem overcommed only when I used the System Restore, but this until yesterday.
I can ping to Internet sites.
I installed the browser Deepnet Explorer and this functions normally. It opens all the sites whereas I think it works over IE!
Opera doesn't work either.
I want to use Firefox I can't work with Deepnet.
Does anyone know what's happening?

it realy does sound like a firewall problem to me, turn the firewall off and try it out.

Nothing...
My firewall is ZoneAlarm. The strange thing is that when I delete the programm permission for IE or Firefox from firewall and I open the browsers the firewall don't ask for permission. It seems that the request for Internet access don't "reach" firewall!

i had a problem that was very similar to that and it turned out to be my ISP was f*cking around with the connections....

I unistalled google desktop and all are working nicely. The upgrade from beta was maybe the problem!
