Problems with colours

Hi. I am having a problem adjusting my monitor. Sometimes it comes too dark and sometimes it comes too foggy. Is there a program or a way to help me do this.

Thanks for your help

Well... there are knobs inside CRT monitors that let you adjust brightness and focus... but I don't recommend taking apart your monitor. It can be dangerous, but if you are willing to take the risk, you can take off the cover to your monitor and near the back you should see two black knobs. You can use a screwdriver to turn these until your monitor is bright enough and is focused correctly. Then use some fingernail polish to put on the knobs to keep them from moving around, and put the monitor back together. BE VERY CAREFUL not to touch the large red wire in the monitor, in fact, don't touch anything you don't have to. CRT's have large capacitors that retain large amounts of power even after the monitor has been unplugged.

the foggy look can also come due to less contrast, ;). dont take anything apart, because monitors are dangerous. (that electron cannon is usually 10000v if im not mistaken ;) )
