problems with flash drive

Not really the right forum for this topic, but accessories is the closest i could find, so sorry

I have a flash drive (i think thats the right term) that I use to insert a digital camera memory card for uploading photos to my comp. usually I put the card in the drive and a "what do you want to do" window pops right up, but now when i try it the computer does nothing.

I'm not sure of the name of the drive. I go to my computer and to "removable storage devices" and its not listed. theres "3 1/2 Floppy" (which is odd because my comp has no floppy drive) and the DVD drive and the CD-RW drive

Interesting: every time I right click the floppy drive, it freezes for 10 seconds and THEN the menu pops up. if i try to close the window before the menu pops up, it says that My Computer is not responding and asks if i want to end now.

sorry, this is kind of vague. but can anybody help?

Have you gotten all of the stuff off of the card that you need? If so, reformat the card and see if that clears up the problem. If not, it could be an issue possibly with the motherboard, not sure though. Best course of action right now is to reformat the card and see if that works. Oh, and best to also try another card as well, just in case the card itself has gotten damaged in some way...

yeah i need whats on the card. otherwise i totally would have reformatted. guess i'll just have to find another way of getting the pix off the card. anybody else got any solutions?
