hello

When I'm playing games after for about a few minutes to 40minutes then my screen turns black (computer sends no signal) or i get "VPU Recover" or i have artifacts.

My system specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Windows XP Prof edition SP2
512 MB RAM (not the best quality)
Integrated sound card in motherboard GA-K8VT800
ATI Radeon 9600 XT 128 MB (with newest drivers installed)
I think my PSU is not good (but it says it's 350 watt)

thank you

If it's always after a few minutes, I'd think your GPU is overheating...

I second the motion is the video card overclocked? If so back it off just a little.

Is the motherboard overclocked? If so try to lock the AGP speed setting. Since I believe you have an AGP card.

If neither you may want to try reseating the heatsink on your video card but only if its not under warranty. Plus I would ask others first about doing that with your video card. Some are easy and some are not so easy.

If I clock it back there is no problem. But if I play on the normal settings the computer gives no signal to the monitor (after a while playing). We have bought a new power supply (Tagan 380 watt). But the problem is not fixed. We have used other RAM but that also doesn't work. The video card works in an other computer. We have cleaned the processor cooler. But this also doesn't work.

This is typical for GPU overheating.

Make sure the airflow through the case is adequate.
