Hi all. Basically i have a desktop pc in my office connected with ethernet to my router in lounge and also a laptop with a wireless card plugged in. I have broadband from bt and have also wired ethernet sockets into most rooms from the router. I use outlook express for my email (yahoo) and problem i have is that the emails i send from my laptop are not stored on pc outlook and vice versa. Also when i send emails it wont connect to the smtp server. If i keep trying then it eventually does. Also if i do something on word on my laptop i then need to email it to another email address and open it on pc so i can print it in the office. If i set up a network would all emails then be on both pc's ? and could i access all files from each? How would i sort this out? Many thanks in advance:confused:

the problem with your emails not being stored i dont think will be solved with the use of a network or the lack thereof.

I have used outlook and I know that things like stored emails and old/deleted emails dont match up when you change computers. this may be remedied with a network that all your computers are hooked up to.

there is probably a directory on your computer that you can access that outlook stores the messages sent and/or recieved from your account on one of your computers (not sure because I dont normally use outlook but it makes sense) if you had your laptop and your desktop on the same network you could easily access those files from the other computer. same applies with the word files. it just takes some time and patience setting up.

if there is no directory that outlook stores your sent messages automatically there is probably an option that allows you to do so
