Problems with second hand fujitsu laptop

Hey,

I bought a laptop on ebay a few months ago, a FUJITSU amilo Li 1705 CORE DUO DVD/-RW 2GB RAM WIFI LAPTOP. Its been shuting down every now and then since I got it but it got way worse it the last month.

It shuts down and a message comes up saying i need to get a BIOS update, but the compuyer doesnt stay on long enough to download anything..
Does anyone have any idea whats wrong with it? The ebay company i bought it off put windows XP on it, but the sticker on it is windows vista, could it be incompatable with window XP perhaps?

It may not have the proper drivers on it. Did it come with the original Vista disks? It should have...

I suspect that there is something else fishy going on with this unit though. I would recommend a fresh install of an OS first - preferably with the original install disks.
