Problems with Video

I am hoping someone can help me out on this one, cuz it is driving me nuts. When I play a video file, I keep getting a very choppy performance. The video actually pauses like every other couple seconds. I have Windows Media Player 9.....after a few days of that, I downloaded the DIVX player.....I have had a little bit of success with that, but not much....then I downloaded The Classic media player.....codecs....you name it. So now I have three media players that I have to meddle with to see which one plays a file in a less than satisfactory way....it sucks. All I want is to play them on the Classic Media PLayer and not have problems.....does anyone know what is causing this????????

Its pausing cause it is buffering the video. If you have a slow internet connection then that is why your getting the pausing every few seconds cause it is downloading the video and sometimes that can take awhile. So the best thing to do is let the video download all the way and then play it and you should not have the player stopping every few seconds.

Its probably because you have too many processes going on in the backround. If you have XP, press ctrl+alt+del and find out how much memory is being used and how many processes are there.
Also, if you click Run -> type msconfig -> Startup tab and you can uncheck any things that you KNOW you don't need (such as media utilites and such, whatever) and that can speed thingss up.
