Problems with Vista

Vista keeps losing the connection for my browsers (IE and Firefox both) while other things such as an IM program still connect. An example was after sitting and watching a show on hulu last night the connection was gone, and just now after leaving the computer for 5 minutes the connection was gone. I thought this was caused by the network adapter going into power saving mode, but it isn't the case. Furthermore, when I do lose the connection with firefox and exit and try to open it up again, it won't. The process is running in the task manager but it won't end. On top of this, when there are these processes running that can't be ended the computer will not restart/shut down right and will need to have the power button held in. What the heck is going on?

Hi again haha, sounds to me like you have a pest prob haha, but for real tho, what scanners you use? I rec AVG Free, I have used other stuff, an jus wont go back. But anyways I would try running a rootkit scan to along with the anti spyware/virus scan. Thats what it sounds like, is sum sort of bug?
