Problems

So I just got my 500GB Black Drive today.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136320

The problem I am having is I installed windows 7 a total of two times and each time I would reboot 3-4 times and get a BSOD and have a missing file. Don't recall each but on the 3rd install it would basically loop over and over "preparing setup" I let it set for 20 minutes and never got to the format/install screen.
So I installed my old 500GB Seagate drive and it kept freezing at windows logo...so I disconnected the WD 500GB and now my seagate drive boots normally.

Before it refused to install Windows on me I was getting "stuttering" and in HDtune tests it would drop to 0mbs during the middle of the install. So my question is there something special you have to do with these drives, or is this a damaged unit?

There is no jumpers on the drive...when I try to boot the WD I get the "please repair missing file xxxx" message but I can't actually get to the repair. My board has always installed Windows slow but I get to that message within 10 minutes on my seagate drive.

I hooked up my 2 storage drives and had no problems so not sure what to say about this WD drive.

Rma the drive. There a lot of failed ones. I ordered 2 a year ago for raid 0 and had to rma 1 due to malfunctioning.

Yeah I went a head and did that this morning. After it froze my system from booting and my second system I blamed the HDD itself.
As a slave it was actually preventing the primary from booting since Windows could detect it but not access it.

Real shame too this time it was packed inside a box wrapped in bubble wrap and then completely packed with paper. By far the best drive to date as far as packing does from Newegg. Though honestly I blame UPS for most the dead drives I get....they drop packages at least 6FT 2-3 times before they get to my door.
