problems

ok,.. please be patent with the new guy.
i have a custom desktop with win xp pro.
ok,. fast foward, i have a slight problem possable because of lightning.
i end up replacing my cable modem and power supply. the second HD is wacked
and so far i cannot get anything off it but the main HD is ok.
with a different HD all my system is fine, CD drives can be picked up[ etc.
with the old HD back in, everything is there but it suddenly doesn't see mt 2 CD drives or my mouse. and i can't seem to get it to pick them up.
help!

it is hard to say. i think it is the lightnng. you dont know what happens. it probily fried something else.
 
Corruted HDD? See if you can see it in disk management. IF the drives are picked up at POST then that rules out the motherboard. You COULD try reformatting... and check you cables and connections. Is the power supply you got even sufficient enough?
