i have just had another look at the specs and the graphics card i want to get for my new build (ati 4850) and i read "supported direct x 10.1" will this card still support the older d.x 9 or not casue if it dosent im screwed :(
 
I am not the most knowledgeable tekkie in here but I believe that the card should be backwards compatible. Just because it supports 10.1 does not mean it doesn't support 9.0. So you should be fine. I think it means that it supports up to 10.1.

Anyone, if I am wrong please correct me.

ok can any1 else confirm that?
 
Yeah it will support dx 9.0 I was running xp for a while with two of them in crossfire and xp uses 9.
All the games I played ran perfect under 9 so you'll be fine.
