Processor Decision

Greetings all! I'm Lee from Florida. I am new and this looks like a place to get some great information and advice.

I am NOT a gamer, I do not do any video editing, just watch streams online, I don't do a lot of multitasking, mainly browse, email, invoices and paperwork, faxing (I have a small business), etc.

I definitely want to get a quad core, and my question is, with what I've described, wouldn't an AMD suit my needs quite nicely, as opposed to paying out the extra money for Intel?

Thanks in advance.

. In power, It's relatable to an AMD 8350 quad core, that's been overclocked.

Totally BS... but anyways, an Intel dual core or an APU from AMD (A8 or A10) should be sufficient.

Edit: not totally, but editing and multi-core games won't run well at all on the i3. For those consumers. OP will be fine as it has integrated graphics.

Anything at all will work for your needs.

I'd even go with a cheap G3258 or something. You could always upgrade to quad down the road when they're really cheap, but for your uses even a dual will do everything you need it to.

Quoted the wrong processor, but I stand by the Intel in that rig being equal to or better than AMD quad cores in that price range.

if building on your own even an intel g3258 overclocked would be pretty fast as f***. i wouldnt even call it multi-tasking in your case because literally everything you listed would not stress the processor at all. it will seem faster that it gets your single task at a time type computing done slightly quicker.

plus the processor is $70. cant really beat that except with a black friday deal cause amd had really good black friday deals.

True. I don't think I'd ever go with a pre-built AMD machine. Nonetheless, an AMD dual core.. yuck..
