Processor Help please!

Hey,
so I am going to build myself a new computer for gaming, and I was confused as to which CPU to purchase. I would say I want to spend around £40-£60 on it, any suggestions?

Not very much to spend on it huh? It will probably hold you back from serious gaming. But if you're so inclined you could probably get a dual-core AMD Athlon II for around that price.

Yes, that should be good. You could always upgrade to something more powerful like a Phenom later down the road.

This is a clarification of what VoyagerFan said. You would want to upgrade to a Phenom II, not a Phenom. Phenom II processors have about 50 to 80 percent more processing power over the first generation Phenom processors.
