Processor help

Alright, this is probably an obvious question to most people, but I'm not sure. I was just wondering if it would be alright to take out my processor, put it in another comp, take that comps processor and put it in mine. I mean would both comps still work properly and such? (sorry i'm not very good with comps)
 
Well that depends on a few things. What type of chips are both of them (socket type) and what is the max each board can handle?
 
and be careful with the heatsink/fans too, if u do switch, keep each heatsink/fan with the processor they came with/ u bought them for.
