processor or motherboard?

what has greater odds of being messed up, my procesor (xp barton 2500 never oc) or my motherboard, biostar m740...something like that...
I thought the ram was bad, ran a mem test and it had errors, but I took some perfectly good ram from another computer and my computer would not even boot up. It only boots up with the ram that its been having in it for the past year or so. oh and the main problem is very frequent blue screen errors.
I have had this setup for about 3 years and have not had one single blue screen error....so processor or motherboard?
 
would it be worth it to buy a new motherboard...i was thinking an msi...only problem with getting a new motherboard is that it is hard to find a new socketA motherboard
so should i get a new motherboard or just buy a new system all together haha
 
yea I know what they have at those two, the best reviewed one from newegg is the one I have now, and the best from tigerdirect appears to be the msi one so would it be a good idea to get that one ?
