I'm a 16 year old High-School student and i'm particularly interested in programming software for my own interest(C++). (I'm fascinated by it) But everytime I buy/get a library book on programming its A. requiring expensive softeware and too complicated for me and only gives you a horrible demo on the accompanying disc, or B. Horrendously outdated (Library 
). So what i'm wondering is, can anyone reccoment some simpler/cheaper IDE and maybe a good place on the net to pick up free guides. (Havent got much money to spend

Oh, before I forget, I've been doing bits and pieces of C++ but if anyone has any advice on other languages that I'd be better of starting with then please let me know =)
