Programs opening on startup

When i turn on my pc it loads windows and then starts to load some programs i have (curse client/steam) that use an internet connection but the system opens them and say their is no internet connection as it is still setting that up.
is their a way to delay these programs from opening untiol other things have completed first?
 
From a run box type 'msconfig' and select the Startup Tab. You can uncheck the applications you wish to stop from loading with windows. Should allow you to check off what you want and don't want to start on startup.
