Programs randomly shutdown

Hi.

I've overclocked my E8400 to 3.7ghz.
runnig at 1.216 - 1.232V

But when I run 3Dmark or a game . The game/program will randomly quit and give me an error. I know this is caused by the overclock, but since I'm not getting BSOD I'm wondering if it is because of the GFX or RAM that it does so?
What should I do to prevent it from doing this?

I haven't overclocked my GFX and Ram is running at 1:1. Rig is in signature

most likely the voltage you provided to the cpu is not enough according to your operating frequency. This causes your system to become unstable.

see if raising the voltage works. Also make sure that you don't burn you cpu:) by aplying to much. Check out intel's website and check which is the maximum voltage that your cpu is able to operate.

Drop back to stock speed/voltage and see if you get the error.
If you do get the error, then it's the program, not the overclock.
If the program works fine at stock speeds, then raise it back up to where it was (3.7), and then back it down little by little until it stops the error.
Either the motherboard chipset/SATA controller, the RAM, or the Radeon doesn't like overclocking that far.
