programs that won't die

Hi. I'm using Windows XP Professional. I recently installed Pinnacle Studio 10 and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and then uninstalled them through Control Panel>Ad/Remove Programs. However, the space on my hard disk remains diminished. I started out with 5.31GB of used space and now it's up to 8.49 GB. How do I get rid of those 3.18GB that I don't want?

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I've deleted every file I can find, using Windows' Search to locate any files that slipped away. The thing is, I've noticed that the disk space continues to creep up. It's now at 8.78GB. Is this a virus?
 
Do you have any podcast type things that download updates automatically? For instance I suscribed to a podcast through iTunes and it would download new things every week. I know this sounds completely irrelavent but just check to see if something could be updating itself.
