hi,

i have a vaio laptop and on it is a few programs like vaio launcher and a memorystick formater for the memorystick/duo port on the side plus other sony brand ones i cant find anywhere and i want to keep them, but im installing a new os, as when i got the laptop they were all installed already also and the only way to get them back is to use the restore cd but obviously tht has my old os on it so i was wondering is their a way of cutting them off my comp now and pasting thm back on when the new os is installed? was thinking if i cut the folder including the .dll files will they work when i install the new os?

i would take a look on the sony site to see if they have updates for the programs, if you're lucky they'll have new versions of all the programs you're looking for

If what you have is an image/restore disc rather than a full OS disc with software on it, then the software is already pre-installed when the image is put on the hard drive. I have a couple of apps like this, but I've found installers (Money, Works 7). I'm going to copy them and see what happens when I rebuild my machine in a few weeks!
