Programs won't run after new HDD installed

So, I just installed a new hard drive. My operating system is on an SSD, I have a normal SATA drive I use for all my programs, and to read/write to (I edit a lot of video).
I wanted to add another drive just to read and write video from/to, so I bought one second hand on Ebay.
Windows 7 detected it and installed the driver, but it never showed up, so I figured it wasn't formatted. I checked the disk management, and there it was. Not formatted. For some reason, it was listed as "Disk 0". Normally, if I install a new drive, it picks the next number UP. I have no idea if that's relevant or not.
Anyway, the drive formatted fine, so I copied about 100GB of video to it from my second drive. I checked it, and it all worked fine, so I deleted it from the second drive.
Then, I went to open the video editor and got a message about some missing file and it couldn't start. (Not a missing video file required for a project. And actual file required to run the program)
I tried to uninstall it and got an error (1719, or 1790, I think) that I couldn't access the windows installer.
I Googled the code, so I know Firefox was working at this time.
I tried running some other programs. Some would load, some would not. I got a message about a missing parameter or something. I went to Google this, but got the same message when trying to open Firefox OR Chrome. A few programs opened just fine.
I suspected the SSD had some corruption or whatnot, and ran a chkdsk, but it seemed fine.
Next time I booted up, I got a blank blue screen. I waited a bit, but nothing happened. I was able to open the task manager at this time, and very few processes were running.
I tried a re-start, and it booted up just fine.
In confusion, I started typing this question right here, and , as I did, I saw a message popup. Panda AV had detected some threat or other. The path appeared to suggest it was something in the Panda installation folder itself that was the "threat".
I clicked "remove" and then, suddenly I was able to open all the programs, except Pinnacle Studio (The first program I tried to open. The one that let me know there was a problem)
I tried again to uninstall it, and this time I was able to.
So...this has me confused. Everything seems to be working now, but I'd still like to know what was wrong.
I don't believe the new drive was infected. It was a blank volume and I formatted it.
I can't even be sure if installing the new drive was related in any way to the problem. It could just be coincidence.
After installing the new drive, I had to change the boot priority to get the computer to boot up, but, other than that, all the previous drives were still assigned their original letters.
A bad AV update, maybe? It seems odd that this happened immediately after adding a new HDD, when everything has been working perfectly for a couple of years.

You can't just transfer programs from drive to drive if that's what you did. As you noticed, there are other files required to allow the program to run. Personal data is fine to move between drives but not actual programs.

Yeah, I know. As I said, I transferred video files, and only video files. I've even looked through the copy of the folder to see if there was anything that had somehow gotten in there without me knowing, but it's just video files.

It's the highlighted item. For some reason, my AV seems to have decided to quarantine itself. Maybe it was depressed.
But I'm not sure if that's the cause of my problems or only a symptom of them. Everything works fine now, so I have no idea.

Are you running the latest version of Panda antivirus? I haven't found anything online about it blocking itself. You might want to think about running a different virus program such as Avast.

It's never done it before, and it hasn't done it since. I think it was merely a symptom of some other problem. Everything works fine now. I had Avast for ages, but I hated it with a passion. Then I tried AVG, and hated it even more. It actually sent FALSE alerts or warnings about unimportant stuff, and offered to fix it, but the button was a link to the sales page of some piece of software or other. AS far as I'm concerned, that's adware of the worst kind. Panda has been great. I have no idea when it updates, and that's good. Because Avast used to slow my connection right down at random times to update.
Ah, well...Everything is working, so...I guess it doesn't matter what was wrong
