Propriatary dell in tower

Sorry if my typing's a bit off, but I cut my finger while working :P Anyway, some of you might know of the major PSU problems with the tiny dell models(GX160, 260, etc etc...) Well, dad had some that died at work, and I suggested putting them in a regular case. I succeded in doing so and getting the machine to work, but dad said it probably wouldn't pass a safty inspection. Oh well, it was a fun challenge. The hard part is getting the damn thing back together. Dad's beside me trying to get the plastic back on the old case now

Anyway, that's only one screw holding that motherboard in, because it actually used "hooks" rather than screws. I stuck that video card in just because I figured it would help secure the motherboard.

Whats the little slot thingy on the bottom of the mobo?

Yay, you managed to defy dell's proprietaryness. Anything against dell is a plus in my book.

The AGP connector looking deal? I beleive it's for more ports or something. This motherboard/model was also avaliable in a tower configuration...so maybe it adds a few more PCI slots or something.

Well, which are you talking about? The connection right under the PCI slot is for additional PCI slots. The connection on the bottom of the mobo that resembles an AGP connection... I don't know what that's for right off... So far none of the machine's I've worked on have actually had anything connected to that.

Hehe, they both are for extra PCI slots then ;P This particular one didn't have anything, but the ones at work did have a little riser card with two additional PCI slots.
