Ok so after god knows how long i have finally come up with a proposed build. Just wanted to know if it will all work together, if it will fit in the case and if there will be enough connections of the mobo for everything.

Case: Antec 1200 (ugly but most cases are :( and as long as it will do a good job then it will have to do, if anyone knows of a nicer looking one thats good then im open though!)

CPU: Intel Q6600 2.4ghz G0 stepping edition

Mobo: Asus P5Q Deluxe (would premium be better?)

PSU: Corsair tx 750w (possibly 850 if i go crossfire?)

Heatsink: Arctic cooling freezer 7 pro

RAM: 2x 2GB Corsair 800mhz dominator kit

Hard Drive: 2 x Samsung Spinpoint F1 500GB (raid0)

Optical Drive: Samsung SH-S223F/RSMN 22x DVD±RW sata dual layer rewriter

Sound Card: Creative SoundBlaster x-fi xtreme 7.1

Tv Card: Hauppage wintv nova-t 500

OS: Vista premium 64bit

Graphic Card: this is the thing i cant decide on yet.. i do alot of gaming so i need one that'll run smoothly. I was orignally going to get 1 ATI 4870 512mb, but now i'm thinking crossfire..

Everything looks great but of course we don't know what the video card will be or how many there will be, which will change some things. If you're going to go crossfire, then you'll probably need a bigger PSU with two of the 4870's. Those are power hogs. On the product detail page (at newegg anyways) it should state what is needed to run 1 card and then what is needed to run 2 cards in crossfire.

Ok so just in case i choose to go crossfire what is the minimum psu wattage i should go for?

The minimum required PSU for two 4870's is 600w. However, I would just stick with your Corsair 750w PSU at that point. 800 watts would actually be over kill. I thought I heard somewhere that people were barely able to run a pair of those with an 800w PSU but either the PSU was garbage or it wasn't the 4870, so nevermind you should be in the clear!

i would get a 4870x2, its got 2gb's of ram, and its also double slot(single pcie though), so i would try and get that instead of two 4870 1gb's

i dont think im likely to ever add another card after ive got all the parts for this build. Think i will get 2 crossfired 4780's just because one of the sites i am getting parts from has a week offer selling them for 166 GBP each, and 2 of them will be cheaper than an x2

So if i get those 2 cards, everything will definately fit and work yeah? In the antec 1200 case? im scared of making a mistake hehe
