Hi all,

I need to know something about the computer I am using. What can you place a password on inorder to protect it from other users being able to see it that will use the computer. What kind of files/folders can have a password I suppose is the question. worddocuments, folders, audio files, and all other stuff. Thanks abunch. On windows xp professional.

Well you could bury a folder somewhere (hide it deep in the windows folder..)
You could protect a zip file with a pw. What are you trying to hide, a single file or a lot?

you can put a password on word documents to prevent people from editing. You can put a password on a zip/rar file, so without the password you can't unzip the file.

You can use Cryptainer (freeware) to create a virtual, password protected drive to store your files. Commercial version allows more storage capacity. Check in tucows.com or elsewhere for download.

I've been looking for a program like this for years. Thank you for this idea.
The website says you can have multiple 25MB "vaults".

And there are other such programs if you do a google, you should find them. But I have used Cryptainer and its really awesome. I will also explore the multiple vaults when I get time.
