Protection different partitions

Hey, i am going to be doing a lot of work on my Pc and so i created seperate partition for my work/data. I am running antiVir, and deepfreeze on my main comp. My question is how can i keep all my data secure. I dont mind reformating my hdd with my os, but if i lost my data on the secondary hdd/ different partition would take me at least a month to redo. So my question is how can i completly secure it, or the closest thing to it without buying software? Freeware is fine!

EDIT: The files are way too big to burn on cds!

I dont have a dvd burner. O well im not to concerned about it now. I havent gotten a virus, single spyware/adware in a few months so i think i am secure.

Murphy is always listening...

If you have a gmail account, you could back your data up in there. Yahoo mail also has a data storage feature.

Unless you have files of > 680MB, you can still burn them to CD, it may just take a few CDs to accomplish it. If it's that important, then it's worth your time to safeguard it.

Rewritables, then... maybe invest in a DVDRW or DVDRAM. I got mine for $90, IIRC.
