I don't see where your getting that information from that link? All that is, is the new version of the PS2. Much like the new version of the PSOne where they made it smaller and come with a screen. Of course this version has the disc tray pop open like the PSOne and has ehternet and modem ports already on it.

technically you can play burned games on any PS2, you just need to pop it open and solder some connections to a mod chip.
He is probably seeing that it can play dvd-r/rw but I think that only means movies
