PS3-blu-ray problems

I have just bought a panasonic viera 1080P LCD TV and a PS3. If I hook up the PS3 direct it looks GREAT, but if I add my panasonic SA-XR70 fully digital receiver into the system the picture looks grainy and the colours are inverted (faces are blue). The problem is intermitent but very annoying. Can anyone tell me if the receiver is screwed or do I have some setting wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, more than likely it is something to do with the receiver, either one of the ports is a little screwy, or some of the other hardware is a little out of whack.
