PS3 Buttons Mysteriously Switched

Hi all

My PS3 recently overheated and suffered damage to the motherboard.
This was duly replaced, but after the rebuilt machine was put back together, the HDD and the motherboard didn't recognise one another and forced a format of the HDD (which I was expecting).

What I wasn't expecting, however, was for the X and O buttons on the controller to effectively swap, and where X used to be confirm and O cancel, these are now reversed ... ? The screen prompts are correct, so seem to have changed since my old, pre-broken PS3.

I have upgraded to the latest OS (last night updating to 3.61 after the PSN finally came back online) and the issue persists.

I have looked for some kind of controller settings, but can't find anything that looks like it might do the trick.

Does anyone have any words of widom?

Thanks

Hi Troncoso

Thanks for the suggestion, but you're right. I did have to re-sync the controllers when I got the PS3 back.

Do you have a second controller? You need to test whether it's the system that's causing the problem or the actual controller. I'm going to bank on the system though. I'd get back in touch with Sony.

Very strange problem definantly get back to the department that did your repairs and see whats going on.
