PSP games and on/off button

Hey, i've just recently bought a psp with 3 games,
Tomb Raider: Anniversary
GTA: Liberty City Storys
Burnout Dominator

Sometimes while playing these games i accidentally knock the on/off switch and lose my game data up to that point, which can get very annoying with GTA, not so much the other two. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? like a switch i can move, or a little box i can put over it?

Also, are there any must buy games out there? I've seen Medal of Honour: Heroes, which apparently has a 32 player online multiplayer, which sounds pretty cool and counterstrike like. Anything else? and can anyone recommend this game?

Thanks
Enshei

When you put it on hold though, you can't push any normal buttons.

You should be able to, you can on mine. I've had my psp for about 18 months and i've never once knocked the on/off switch by accident, so unless you hold it weird.....:P

No you can press any button while playing... At least it works on my little bro's PSP... Have you tried it?

Might it be becuase i have a psp slim and lite?
When i turn it onto hold, all the movement controls etc dont work.

@mwhisman, yeh, but sometimes i accidentally hold it up for more than a gentle push.
@nffc10, yeh i have a wierd hold, especially when i get more and more into the games.

Huh, thats odd. In the 2+ years I've had my PSP I have never accidently turned it off. And unless your holding it for 3 or more seconds then it should just go into standby and be able to resume your game from where you left off. Well, if it's really becoming a problem you could always put some tape over the power button:P

while the PSP is on hold you cannot press the d-pad or any buttons...but the analog stick will still work. If u press ur power button up gently the PSP should shut off...but only go into a sleep mode. From sleep mode u should just be able to flip the switch again to resume right where u were (almost like a pause button that saves battery life).

If the PSP is shutting down all the way it means ur hitting the power button up and holding it for several seconds. There really is no way to avoid this other than to try holding it differently...I also have the slim so I know its no different than a normal PSP...u'll just have to figure something out

As for great games...it depends on what kinda game genres u like...so let me know and I can give u suggestions =)

Looks like a piece of tape is going to have to do it, i've started to manage to do it less now but it still happens some times.

I'm really enjoying gta, but i don't think i could play another one of those for a while. Are there any really good fps games? my faves have to be rpg's, car racing, fps and strategy? any hints?

thanks

well...if u like rpgs and strategy, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions is a great turn-based rpg. If u played it on the gameboy u know wat its all about...but its great fun. Monster Hunter: Freedom (1 or 2) is a great action rpg...but if u can get easily frustrated this game may drive u insane. There are plenty of need for speed games on the PSP and theyre all pretty fun. Lots of cars great customization etc. Killzon Liberation is also a good strategy/shooter but its not first-person, its a top-down view. I havent played any fps on the PSP so I'm not sure which ones are good...try www.gamefaqs.com...look through the genres and read user reviews, but just be wary of the message boards...the community can be harsh XD

hope I helped a little...and happy game hunting!
