PSU 20-4 = mobo 24pin power connector??

I feel silly, but have been given/read conflicting info on the subject. The power supply I plan on buying is a 20-4 main connector, and the mobo I plan on buying is a 24 pin. Are they the same thing or at least compatible?? Thanks...

yes they are. the 20-4 just means that it is compatible with both the 24 pin and 20 pin.

20-4 pin connectors are basically a 20 pin connector with a detachable 4 pin connector. So yes, it will work.
