Hey all. Im planning a build using the Intel core 2 extreme processor. Il be using it with 2Gb of RAM, 1 150Gb WD Raptor and 1 120Gb Barracuda. Not 100% sure on Mobo yet, but probs an ASUS. Il be using the system for Music editing, and some light video editing.

With that in mind, what should i take into consideration when choosing a PSU?

Will this one suffice, or should i get something a little beefier for a moderately high-end system?

Antec PSU - $90

so far.. a PSU choice mainly came down on the grafic's card in the pc.

the pic of the Table is a bit blurry for me here ( weird network on this place,.. all pictures are a bit blurry )
but it looks like that PSU has a 15 and a 13A +12v rail (to me) wich is more than enough for that system i think.

but.. what grafic's card are you going to get?

well if u decide to get better graphics cards ur gonna want to be able to use ur psu without having to upgrade that also. generally speaking, the higher the amps on the 12V rails the better. ur spending 1000 on the proc so i wouldnt wuss out on the psu, ur gonna want clean power getting to that cpu. but ur looking at 100 dollar psus anyway so...in most cases u dont really need to worry as much as you would if u were looking at cheapo psu

i had the antec, well actually it was the truepower 2.0 psu it ran my 7900gtx a water cooling pump 3 hdd's and a crap load of fans no problems. it started to crash when i sli'd another 7900 but only in my 64bit os running dual raptors, then only while intensive gaming from time to time.
that thing is a work horse.
but yes the gamexstream is much nicer to look at and a little bit more power.
