PSU help

my psu is 300W. make that your minimum.
go for psus with features, eg. mine says noise killer on it.
silent psus are good as well, or at least get the quietest you can get, then when you have built your computer it will be nearly silent.

Well one would think so...

mine says noise killer on it.
Yes but its prolly more important to go after useful features first and then deal with "aesthetic" features. :)

Assuming you want a sissy sounding computer of course ;)

In all seriousness though, look for dedicated twin ATX12V lines, active PFC as "features", other things to consider are voltage tolerances and output efficiency.

Sorry to jump into this but what would be some good tolerances and efficiencies? Most of the PSUs I've seen say they are about 70% efficient at full load... I think I've seen a few that go up to 80%. Is there really big difference?

Wow 80% ... geez ive been looking at 65-70 percent PSUs too much :D What you note is half of what i intended ... yes there is the "efficiency at load" but also to consider [the more difficult to determine], "efficiency at high temperatures" ... this is a very common problem with people buying "boarderline PSUs" (i.e., 6800U with 450W PSU or something) .... when the PSU temp goes up, the output efficiency goes down ... and the video card dont like that :P
