PSU question

just want to ask if you connect a PSU to a motherboard without a processor, ram, GPU and turn it on, would the PSU run?

It should. But for certain, you can find the pinouts of the ATX connection and simply short the pins to start the PSU.

Provided you have the power switch plugged into the board, yes. As for shorting the PSU to start it, it's just a matter of connecting the green wire on the 24pin ATX main with any black wire.
