Psu sata power???

Western digital drives have secure connect and uses the 4 pin molex cable for power, so whats the sata thing for?

Its hard to tell exactly what you're talking about, but I know some SATA drives have both a 4 pin molex connector and a SATA power connector (is there a specific name for that?). You just have to use one or the other.

SATA Is the data connector, just like the IDE plug was the data connector for and "IDE" hard drive.

I guess there is a new standard coming out with those types of power connectors, which are called SATA Power connectors. (They do not have a more special name other than that)

Ya know, I did have a lady ask me once:

"If I add more RAM, will it make my Internet faster?"

I politely told her no.....

I think they are talking about drives with SATA Power and molex power not the SATA data line.
just like the IDE plug was the data connector for and "IDE" hard drive.
it's an ATA plug not IDE :)
