PSU test.

There is only a few ways to test the psu. Voltage readings in the bios. Buying a psu tester and hooking it up. Or short a couple pins on the 24 pin connector to see if it turns on. What exactly is going on?

I recently had a friend do a complete re-install of Win 7 Pro along with all my drivers.
Since I've brought it back home i immediately had trouble starting the computer. Pressing the case power button did nothing. My MB has a on-board power button and I've been using it to power up the computer. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't.
It's my understanding that the on-board button always stays lit, correct me if I'm wrong. That will be off in the morning after the computer has been shut down for the evening. I've also put the computer in hibernate and after awhile it just completly shuts down. Before I go any farther, once I have the machine up and running, it runs fine, no problems at all till this evening. I was just playing solitaire and the computer just completly shut down. once I got it up and running, I noticed that I had and error message,
Main Bios Checksum error
HPA bios not available
This is the first time for this. That happened after my original post about maybe having a bad PSU. So, I'm guessing that it's doubtful that I have something wrong with the PSU.

Any help would be greatly appriecated

PSU: Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750W

I do have a spare PSU to to switch out. I'll be giving it a try in the next couple of days

Since my previous post on Thursday, I haven't even been able to power up my computer. My on-board power button is lit sometimes and when it is I try to turn on the computer with my case switch. When I try that, the fan lights come on and seem like they want to turn but shut down after a few seconds. Then the on-board power light goes off. Now this morning, it fired right up.

Thanks
