Puppy Linux FileTypes

I have installed Puppy Linux on my PC. When I go to a website to download software (such as GIMP) I have to select my version of Linux. Puppy does not appear on the list. The selections are Debian, Fedora, SuSE, Gentoo, and Slackware. I have no idea what to use. Does anyone have any idea of what I should use?

there's your problem again. you didin't even read!!.. puppy is based on what ?..what you saw from their site are the MAIN distro's that others are created upon. for example ubuntu is a DEBIAN distro, SUSE is a red-hat based distro, PClinux is RED-HAT also.

why puppy anyway ?..when you had a choice of a dozen distro

SuSe I think is its own distribution since Novell bought them out some years ago. I thought puppy linux was a live linux based on knoppix, but I never used it.

Either way, typically if there is a binary for the install you can install it on most distros.
