I'm looking to purchase an lcd monitor for a new laptop I'm about to get. The laptop only has an hdmi port, so I'll either need a monitor with an hdmi in or a vga/dvi-hdmi adapter.
For the longest time, I thought that all lcd monitors were glossy, but now I found out that there are non-glossy (matte) monitors. I don't know which is better for my needs. I play the latest graphic intensive games, but I'm also a writer, and I do a lot of research on the internet on a day-to-day business. Glossy screens tend to annoy me when I surf the web. As I understand it, glossy screens are better for gaming and photo editing, while matte is better for surfing the web and using business type applications.
I want a widescreen monitor in the range of 20"-24", and a resolution at least 1680x1050. I have $400 set aside for the monitor. I don't care who the manufacturer is.
If you may be so kind as link me to a glossy, and matte option, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
