Purchasing A Laptop : HELP!

Hello Everyone. I actually only joined this forum because no one I knew could answer my questions.

Firstly, lets start with the fact that I'm CANADIAN. The actual price of the lap top is not a problem but i would like to keep it under $2000 (CAN).

Now, I've narrowed it down to an Apple computer or one of these:

I'll be using the computer mainly for school but also as a personal computer for email, internet ect. SO I would like something fast and with a lot of space for all the programs.

ps. If you think of a laptop that might better suit me please just post.

not sure abt the pricing but there is a 10.6" sony vaio my mate has, awesome little thing, id say that anyday, assuming you dont wanna play games, its tiny, it will easily fit in a large jacket pocket
i'd say thats a good bet, although due to price comparison i aint sure how much it is, vaio is good, although you might wanna wait til vista is out if you wanna get a windows based laptop, neways happy hunting

I think I'm going with windows. An no not a lot of games though I would like to be able to use Adobe Photoshop.
